MK Youth Initiative Boda Boda Loan Scheme Aims
The motorbike project is designed to generate daily income for youth of electoral age through a loan scheme with an almost zero-interest rate. The asset will empower them financially, providing a foundation to build their welfare and achieve their dreams. This subsidized intervention from the MK Youth Initiative will not only serve as an economic tool but also create awareness about various government development initiatives and private sector opportunities. It encourages youth to adopt available resources and highlights the importance of operating in a peaceful Ugandan economy.
MK Youth Initiative Boda Boda Loan Objectives
- Provide a tool for daily income generation at subsidized rates, lower than what is common in the general population.
- Equip youth with financial literacy training and practical skills development, which will include:
- Mechanical skills
- Savings management
- Business literacy sessions
- Reaffirm to the youth that they have the power to be the change they envision.
- Train participants about other government support initiatives such as the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga.
- Mobilize youth to support government initiatives and endorse the right leadership.
