We had the privilege of attending a stakeholders’ consultative meeting with the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry, and Fisheries (MAAIF). This event was an excellent opportunity to spread awareness about the benefits and potential of cashew nut and macadamia farming, highlighting their economic and agricultural significance.

Key Takeaways from the MAAIF Meeting
During our discussions with key stakeholders, we emphasized how cashew and macadamia farming can enhance food security, increase farmer income, and contribute to Uganda’s agricultural development. The meeting provided a platform for knowledge exchange, where stakeholders showed great enthusiasm for the initiatives.
We were also honored to engage with Hon. Bwino Fred Kyakulaga, State Minister for Agriculture, who expressed interest in our efforts. Additionally, we interacted with farmers specializing in various agricultural sectors, including exportation. These engagements opened new opportunities for market expansion, particularly in cashew nut farming.
Conclusion
The consultative meeting with MAAIF was a success, as it strengthened collaborations, generated policy discussions, and encouraged further investment in cashew and macadamia farming. We look forward to building on this momentum and working with stakeholders to advance Uganda’s agricultural sector.
