In a bold move to promote agricultural entrepreneurship and youth empowerment, members of the MK Youth Initiative recently traveled to Kiryandongo District for a special mission—to plant cashew nuts.
The journey was not just about planting trees; it was about planting hope, sustainability, and a better future. As part of the Initiative’s agribusiness project, this trip to Kiryandongo symbolizes our strong commitment to empowering Ugandan youth through practical skills and income-generating opportunities.
Cashew nut farming is one of the high-potential ventures being embraced by the MK Youth Initiative. Cashews are not only profitable, but they also thrive in the Ugandan climate, offering long-term benefits for farmers and communities.
The team, made up of passionate and determined youth, spent the day preparing the land, planting seedlings, and learning more about the care and management of cashew trees. It was a time of teamwork, learning, and community bonding.
Speaking during the activity, one of the team leaders shared,
“This is more than farming. We are creating a future where young people take the lead in transforming Uganda through agriculture.”
MK Youth Initiative continues to roll out projects aimed at skilling youth, supporting innovation, and creating sustainable income sources. Cashew nut growing is just the beginning.
